RMD Aesthetic Provider Internship

Program Overview

The RMD Aesthetic Provider Internship is a paid clinical immersion opportunity for licensed healthcare professionals seeking advanced exposure to medical aesthetics. This program is open to Registered Nurses (RNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Physician Assistants (PAs), and Physicians (MD/DOs) interested in developing hands-on experience within a high-volume aesthetic practice.

This 12-week program combines provider assisting, clinical support, charting exposure, and direct participation in patient flow to build real-world understanding of injectable medicine and aesthetic care delivery.

Program Details

Program Length: 12 Weeks
Schedule: 1-2 Full Clinic Day Per Week
Compensation: $18/hour
Location: Refreshed MD – Portland, OR

Program Purpose

This internship is designed to:

  • Provide hands-on exposure to medical aesthetics in a clinical setting
  • Strengthen understanding of injectable treatments and facial balancing principles
  • Develop confidence in provider-assisted clinical workflows
  • Assist in documentation and patient flow efficiency
  • Provide direct experience assisting providers in aesthetic procedures
  • Support elevated patient experience and clinic operations

Role Responsibilities

Provider Assisting (Primary Function)

Interns will actively assist providers throughout the clinical day to support workflow efficiency and patient care delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting providers during consultations and aesthetic treatments
  • Preparing product, treatment rooms, injectable trays, and clinical supplies
  • Supporting providers during procedures to maintain efficient workflow
  • Anticipating provider needs during patient care
  • Learning and accurately communicating pre and post-care instructions

Clinical Support & Patient Flow

  • Room preparation and turnover between patients
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment spaces
  • Supporting patient intake and transition throughout visits
  • Assisting with clinic readiness
  • Helping maintain smooth and elevated patient flow

Charting & Documentation Exposure

  • Assisting with chart preparation and documentation workflows
  • Supporting treatment note organization and completion processes
  • Learning aesthetic charting standards and clinical documentation practices
  • Exposure to compliance and medical record-keeping systems

Injector Exposure & Provider Collaboration

Interns will work closely with providers by:

  • Assisting during injectable consultations and aesthetic treatments
  • Supporting neuromodulator, filler, biostimulator, and skin procedure workflows
  • Learning facial assessment and treatment planning frameworks through active participation
  • Engaging in clinical discussion and case-based learning with providers
  • Supporting patient education and follow-up processes alongside providers

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold an active RN, NP, PA, or MD/DO license
  • Demonstrate strong interest in medical aesthetics and injectable medicine
  • Commit to 1-2 full clinic day per week for 12 weeks
  • Maintain professionalism, reliability, and clinical readiness
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on clinical environment
