Hyperdilute Radiesse Before and After Care
Before your Hyperdilute Radiesse appointment —
Mitigate the risk of swelling or bruising by taking the recommended dose of pepcid (famotidine) and an allergy medicine (antihistamine) the night before and before your treatment.
Hydrate! Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements a week before treatment to dodge bruises, unless specifically recommended by your doctor. We have found the biggest culprits for bruising are: Aspirin, NSAID, Ginkgo Biloba, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamins A + E, Fish Oil.
Try Arnica Montana pellets two to three days before your treatment to help minimize bruising. In the Portland area, you can usually find Arnica Montana at Market of Choice, Whole Foods or Natural Grocers.
If you experience cold sores, please reach out to us for further instructions before scheduling.
After your Hyperdilute Radiesse appointment —
Follow the injector’s massage recommendations.
Take it easy at the gym post-injection. Avoid strenuous activity for a minimum of 24 hours.
Skip massages or microdermabrasion on injection day.
Recommended to avoid alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods and salt to keep swelling at bay for at least 48 hours post-injection.
Avoid extensive sun exposure (even with SPF) and heat for the first 72 hours.
Be cautious of airplane travel for a minimum of the first 72 hours, as cabin pressure can sometimes worsen side effects. We encourage you to wait up to a week, if possible, post filler or stimulator for air travel. Talk to our skilled medical professionals and we can guide you.
While bruising is not ideal; it will not impact your end results. You can take Arnica Montana tablets and use topical Arnica cream/gel to heal bruising or swelling, or incorporate Alastin Injection Serum into your skincare routine to speed up healing.
For discomfort; Tylenol or acetaminophen are okay to take. A gentle cool compress (not ice) for 15 minutes each hour is also an option to reduce swelling or discomfort.
Do your best to sleep face up and slightly elevated, avoiding side or stomach sleeping.
